About The Event

In the desert, at the foot of Mount Sinai, the Israelites waited for the Torah, and with it a vision of the nation they would build, to be revealed. Each year at Shavuot we revisit this pivotal moment.

Today we can still feel trapped in our very own desert, unsure of how to proceed on our journey, or even where we’re heading. But unlike the Israelites, we don't have to wait for the answers to come. We have some agency, which at times can feel like an empowering or an intimidating blessing.

In this spirit, we invite you to an Erev Shavuot Extravaganza!

Join us to sing, eat, learn, and pray together as we go on a journey up Mount Sinai and consider:

  • What does revelation look like for us today?
  • How can we boldly choose and pursue a destination in our own lives, our community and the wider world?
  • How can we find the change we need, however big or small, to get us out of a rut?

Throughout the evening we will tell stories, sing songs, study text, share reflections and embody ancient rituals to lock in the revelations we uncover.

We would love you to bring a small offering to ‘reveal’ on during the evening. It could be a song or a poem, a story or a teaching. Please let us know when you RSVP if you would be happy to bring something to share.

We hope to see you then for a revelatory evening!
